Going on a road trip to San Francisco any tips?

It's summer festival time. Look into which ones are going on when you are planning to be there. You could hit all the usual tourist sights: Cable Cars, Fisherman's Wharf, China Town, the Ocean at Ocean Beach, Coit Tower, walk or bike across the Golden Gate bridge, take a ferry tour of the Bay or ride it to Sausalito or Tiburon and have lunch over there. Dr do the Alcatraz tour. That one's kind of fun. Good shopping too. You might want to take some side trips to Napa or Sonoma for wine tasting or just the beauty of the areas...Drive up or down the actual coast Highway, stop at some beaches (some of which are nude), eat good food, shop, attend fairs and festivals and maybe a concert, opera or play, depending on your finances and interests. Maybe take a walking tour of parts of the city. The East Bay where Berkeley is, has some worth, as well. Observatory and even just taking a $0.25 ride up the elevator to the top of UC Berkeley Campus' Campanile to get a great view of the Bay and San Francisco from above, in the hills. Lots to do in the San Francisco Bay Area.
