How do i get started on finding out where to go to college?

Im 18 and i graduate high school in December,i have been home schooled for about two and a half years.I am very much looking forward to going to college,being the first one of my entire family,the one problem is,i don't know how to get started in anything,such as what do i look for,what will school be expecting from me. I am really interested in being a lawyer,i don't know what i really need to have to become that,such as course classes etc. Oh and im set on going to school somewhere in San Diego CA. Any good schools for my case? I appreciate it,Thank you.
