Advice on moving to Brooklyn, NY?

Hey, i am a 20 year old male looking to relocate life to Brooklyn. Im from Savannah, GA but just recently moved out (Jan 2011) to Knoxville, TN. Reason for my moving, is just to really see the world, meet new people, and that Knoxville isn't that great lol. So i was just coming here for some advice on how i would successfully move..Also maybe some New Yorkers can share on how life is there in Brooklyn.
