Update on Puerto Rico crime?

There's a 75/25 probability that I'll be moving to Santurce, San Juan from the states to study. I haven't been in PR in a while and I've heard that crime is getting worse? I know I know, I'm not a newbie, I've been there and I know it was pretty bad, but is it the same as dec. 2010(which was the last time when I went?
